Thermalin insulation system installation technology
For facade insulation with TERMALIN aerated concrete blocks, we recommend using the universal adhesive mixture BudMix K-9, which is excellent for both gluing slabs and for reinforcement.
The dry mixture should be added to the water gradually, stirring it until it is homogeneous and adhering to the proportions indicated on the adhesive mixture packaging.
First stage:
Dilution of the mixture
The glue is applied to the blocks in different ways, the choice of which depends on the unevenness of the walls. For perfectly smooth walls, continuous application of glue (under the comb) is recommended.
In other cases, the glue is applied pointwise or in an envelope, which will allow smoothing out the unevenness. After that, the block is glued to the wall, tapping lightly with a long trowel. At the corners of the building, the blocks are bandaged, fastening them in a checkerboard pattern. The slabs are left to dry for a day or two.
Second stage:
Installation of insulation
Doweling is carried out at least 24 hours after the installation of the plates. Since the THERMALIN aerated concrete plates have good adhesion to the wall surface, it is recommended to use dowels with a metal tip for them at the rate of two dowels per plate. In total, 4 plates and 8 dowels are required per square meter. The holes for the dowels are drilled 6-8 mm longer than the length of the dowel.

Fourth stage: Reinforcement
Reinforcement is an important stage, the correct implementation of which will increase the strength of the structure, prevent the appearance of cracks and additionally level the wall.
Therefore, it is important to strictly adhere to a clearly defined procedure: be sure to first apply glue (this can also be the universal adhesive mixture BudMix K-9), and only then - drown the mesh in it, carefully leveling it with a steel grater.
The edges of the mesh should overlap each other by at least 10 centimeters, and the corners of the structure should be additionally reinforced with special corner profiles. For reinforcing Thermalin plates, a 160 g/sq.m. fiberglass mesh is suitable.
At least 72 hours must pass from the completion of the reinforcement of the plates to the start of the priming. When the glue has dried, sandpaper is used to sand all irregularities and a special paint containing sand is applied with a bricklayer's brush or roller.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Primer paint containing sand not only additionally strengthens the facade, but also allows you to apply decorative plaster to the wall at the next stage - fur coat or bark beetle.
Fifth stage:
Priming
After priming and sanding, apply a plaster mixture to the wall according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
